When it comes to decorating my kids’ rooms, I’m all about creating special places they’ll want to play in. And so far, it seems I’m getting it right because my two love their rooms even more than I do. Part of the charm comes from the artworks I’ve found for their walls. The criteria? They have to be colourful, of course, as well as interesting enough to catch a child’s attention rather than just fade into the background.
So these wall sculptures from Sydney-based design studio Kahaus are just the sort of thing I look for. The graphically-stylised steelscapes are stunning in their simplicity, plus they’ve got that little twist of whimsy that I find oh-so appealing. I can’t decide whether I like the red trains or the orange hot air balloons the best. Prefer gender-traditional colours for your own nursery? You won't miss out because artist Sarah Haddad also makes steelscapes with blue boats or pink butterflies.
Of course, being a Babyology pick, these aren’t just ordinary artworks. Made from Australian steel, they also double-duty as magnetic boards for keeping party invitations, hair clips, dummies and other important bits and pieces right where you can find them.
All four designs are available here in Australia from Kindergallery for $395 each plus delivery.
We are big Nico & Zoe fans over here at Babyology and we wanted to let you know they are offering 10% off all purchases available until 25th December, so jump on their website and order your unique Christmas gifts.
They will shipping internationally with prices for Australian shipping approximately at $25, which will be modified up or down based on the actual cost of shipping your items.
We've received a lot of email in the past about our seach functionality not being very user-friendly. So, we desided to swap over to the #1 search technology out there - Google. Now you can search Babyology using Google's search algorithm, it's spelling suggestions and all the Google syntax modifiers as well. For those who haven't used advanced google syntax before, here's a quick primer:
Phrase searches
Sometimes you'll only want results that include an exact phrase. In
this case, simply put quotation marks around your search terms, eg: "bugaboo bee"
Negative terms
You can focus your search
by putting a minus sign ("-") in front of words related to the meaning
you want to avoid, eg: pram -twin
We hope the new search funcationality makes it a lot easier to find the content you're after. Please let us know your feedback in the comments below.
